House Recognizes American Olympian Elana Meyers

ATLANTA –The Georgia House of Representatives welcomed Elana Meyers, Georgia’s only athlete to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, to the House Chamber on Monday.  Meyers was invited by the Douglas County Delegation who introduced House Resolution 1896, commending her for earning a bronze medal at her first Olympic appearance in the bobsled competition on February 24, 2010. Georgia House Expands Healthcare Options for Georgians

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives unanimously passed House Bill 1040 on Friday, March 26, 2010.  Sponsored by Representative Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman), HB 1040 allows individuals to have certain health maintenance activities performed by a friend or caregiver that would otherwise have to be provided by an RN or LPN because the individual cannot provide the activities to themselves due to disability.
