Georgia House Honors Dr. Bob Heaberlin at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative David Stover (R-Newnan) led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing Dr. Bob Heaberlin at the state capitol with House Resolution 779 on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, for being named the Association of Middle Level Education’s 2012-2013 National Distinguished Educator of the Year. Dr. Heaberlin is the principal of Lee Middle School in Coweta County.

Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan Named One of the Country’s Top Black Women Impacting Education

ATLANTA –State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) was recently named one of the top black women affecting education in the country by The Root. Rep. Morgan joins professors, reformers, and other national legislators who were also named to The Root’s list of top black women impacting education.

House Bill 164 Heads to Governor

ATLANTA — House Bill 164, introduced by state Representative Alex Atwood (R-Brunswick), received final passage in the Senate on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, and will now go to the Governor for consideration. HB 164 would extend an existing sales tax exemption for aviation parts used to repair and maintain out-of-state airplanes that is scheduled to automatically expire on July 1, 2013.
