ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta) will hold a press conference to honor the 62nd anniversary of the Atlanta Student Movement of 1960 TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 2:45 p.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
During the press conference, Rep. Cannon will give a commendation to the current Atlanta University Center (AUC) students for their continued activism, as well as honor those who participated in the original protest. In March 1960, AUC students began a mass sit-in campaign against racial segregation in lunch counters and other public facilities in downtown Atlanta.
