ATLANTA – State Representative Soo Hong (R-Lawrenceville) was recently named the “2023 Legislator of the Year” by the Junior League of Atlanta (JLA).
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Junior League of Atlanta for this recognition following my first legislative session,” said Rep. Hong. “This award reaffirms my commitment to advocating for policies that uplift women, children and families, and it motivates me to continue working tirelessly to create a better future for all.”
The JLA’s Legislator of the Year Award is presented to a Georgia legislator who has made significant contributions in advancing the organization’s mission and the betterment of the community. This award aims to acknowledge Rep. Hong’s efforts in championing policies that align with the Junior League’s goals.
Founded more than 100 years ago, the JLA is a women’s volunteer organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through effective action and leadership. The JLA provides a foundation for civic leadership and connects women who share a commitment to voluntarism and community transformation. The JLA is a local chapter of the larger Association of Junior Leagues International.

Representative Soo Hong represents the citizens of District 103, which includes portions of Gwinnett and Hall counties. She was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as one of the Governor’s Floor Leaders and Vice Chairman of the Reapportionment & Redistricting Committee. She also serves on the Judiciary and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.
