ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (D-Atlanta) will host a “Say Their Name” remembrance event in honor of Georgia citizens lost to police violence TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in room 341 of the Georgia State Capitol.
Fulton County families will have an opportunity to share their family member’s story and discuss their experiences with local prosecutors. A statement of support for law enforcement will be given to acknowledge that all officers are not “bad actors.” Rep. Mainor will discuss Senate Bill 92, legislation recently signed into law to create the Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission.
Rep. Mainor has invited the following groups to participate: members of the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee, Georgia Sheriffs’ Association, Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, Office of Attorney General of Georgia Chris Carr, community groups and non-profit organizations.
