ATLANTA – Representative Carl Gilliard (D–Savannah), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), and members of the GLBC announce the launch of “For the People,” a series of tours around the state aimed at igniting hope, fostering unity and advocating for positive change throughout Georgia’s communities. Dates, times and locations for each event may be found below.
Through these events, the GLBC seeks to address critical issues that impact the lives of Georgians, promote civic engagement, highlight the importance of supporting the Black community in Georgia and create a platform for open dialogue.
“The ‘For the People’ Tour is a hands-on grassroots approach to talking about issues that affect Georgians,” said Rep. Gilliard. “As we embark upon this tour across Georgia, we are reminded of the indicators that are plaguing the least and the left out, such as healthcare, livable wages, housing, education and common sense legislation.”
Each event will be free and open to the public, and all Georgians are encouraged to attend.
