ATLANTA – State Representative Dar’shun Kendrick (D–Lithonia) will host a public hearing to discuss the diversity in Georgia’s private equity spaces, as well as her drafted legislation that would allow for more diversified funding under the Invest Georgia Fund on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. in room 216 of the Georgia State Capitol.
During the public hearing, Rep. Kendrick will provide an overview of the Invest Georgia Fund as well as her drafted legislation. In addition, there will be opportunities for testimony from the public about Georgia’s private equity industry. Invest Georgia is a long-term investment program that is designed to help grow and mentor current, new and future Georgia Venture Capital and Private Equity Investment Funds in the state of Georgia. The program’s mission is to help create new Georgia companies, entrepreneurs and long-term, high-paying Georgia jobs. The drafted legislation will be formally introduced during the 2024 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.
