ATLANTA – Today, a proposed Congressional Remedial Map was released. The map may be found on the Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Office’s website here under the “Proposed Plans” section.
Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) issued the following statement on the proposed map:
“This map meets the promise we made when this process began: it fully complies with the judge’s order, while also following Georgia’s traditional redistricting principles. We look forward to passing this fair redistricting plan.”
A joint public comment portal designed by the General Assembly has been made available to the public to allow for maximum input by citizens during the redistricting process. This portal, which is now open and will be accessible during the special legislative session, gives Georgians the opportunity to submit comments to the House Committee on Reapportionment and Redistricting. Submitted comments will be automatically posted to the General Assembly’s website as public record that is accessible to all. To access the public comment portal, please click here.
