ATLANTA – State Representative Scott Hilton (R-Peachtree Corners) will receive an award for his legislative leadership from the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) and the Advancing Employment team within the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD) at the University of Georgia during the National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) event on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Carter Center in Atlanta.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized during this important event,” said Rep. Hilton. “Ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to good jobs is critical, not only for their independence and self-sufficiency, but also for the strength of our communities. I am committed to continuing this work and ensuring that every Georgian has the opportunity to thrive.”
This year’s theme for the event is “Access to Good Jobs for All,” which seeks to highlight the importance of ensuring equal employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Rep. Hilton will join advocates, employers and legislators at the event. The event is free and open to the public.
