ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Teddy Reese (D-Columbus) to serve on the House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee and the Special Committee on Resource Management for the 2025-2026 legislative term. Rep. Reese was also reappointed to the Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees.
“I am honored to be serving on these committees, where I will have the opportunity to address critical issues impacting our state,” said Rep. Reese. “As Georgia’s largest economic sector, agriculture is vital to our way of life, and I am committed to advancing policies that support our farmers, ensure food safety and strengthen the agricultural and consumer industries. I’m also eager to begin working with the Special Committee on Resource Management. It is our responsibility to manage Georgia’s resources wisely, from water to land, ensuring they are used sustainably to benefit both our environment and our economy. The House Agricultural and Consumer Affairs Committee reviews legislation that affects Georgia’s largest economic sector, agriculture. The committee also addresses issues related to human nutrition, food safety, consumer food consumption and the plant industry.
The Economic Development & Tourism Committee is responsible for promoting economic growth, overseeing business and trade policies and evaluating any measures that could impact tourism across the state.
The Public and Community Health Committee focuses on initiatives aimed at improving public and community health to ensure quality healthcare for all Georgians.
The newly established Special Committee on Resource Management will focus on managing the increasing energy demands from data centers moving into the state.

Representative Tremaine Teddy Reese represents the citizens of District 140, which includes a portion of Muscogee County. He first was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees. He also serves on the Special Committee on Resource Management.
