ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), joined by State Senator Donzella James (D-Atlanta), will host a press conference and luncheon to observe Autism Alert Day—an event dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for protective measures for individuals with autism, particularly in cases of missing persons in Georgia. The press conference will take place TOMORROW, Thursday, February 27, 2025, beginning at 11:30 a.m. on the 1st floor of the North Wing Steps at the Georgia State Capitol, followed by a luncheon at 12:00 p.m. in Room 123 of the Capitol.
During the press conference, Rep. Gilliard and Sen. James will discuss the need for enhanced safety measures for individuals with autism, particularly the implementation of an Autism Alert System. This would provide resources and responses in the event that a person with autism goes missing, which would help with their recovery and safety.
