Rep. Eric Bell, State Lawmakers to Hold Press Conference in Atlanta, Advocating for End to GSP Pursuit Practices Following Fatal Crash in Little Five Points

ATLANTA – State Representative Eric Bell (D-Jonesboro), along with other lawmakers and advocates, will hold a press conference calling for an end to Georgia State Patrol (GSP) pursuit practices following a recent fatal car crash in Little Five Points TODAY, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Moreland and Euclid Avenue Northeast.

Speakers will include Devin Barrington-Ward, director of communications with the National Police Accountability Project; State Representatives Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), Gabriel Sanchez (D-Smyrna), and Eric Bell (D-Jonesboro); Atlanta City Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari; Dr. Mark Spencer, MD; and Gerald Griggs, president of the Georgia NAACP.

The press conference seeks to advocate for an end to high-speed pursuits and urges amendments to GSP’s pursuit policies.
