ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) was recently recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a group of scholars from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, as one of Georgia’s most consistently effective legislators in the 157th Georgia General Assembly (2023–2024). According to CEL’s recently released State Legislative Effectiveness Scores, Rep. Scott ranks at the top of the list for lawmakers who have consistently “Exceeded Expectations” for five consecutive legislative sessions—the longest such streak in the Georgia State House.
“I am deeply honored by this recognition,” said Rep. Scott. “Despite the structural challenges that come with being in the minority party, I remain committed to introducing strong legislation and fighting every day for Georgia’s children, seniors, veterans and working families. Effectiveness isn’t just about passing bills—it’s about pushing for justice, equity and opportunity in every corner of our state.”
Rep. Scott earned a legislative effectiveness score of 1.99. During the 157th session, she introduced 59 bills, with five advancing through committee, two passing and one signed into law.
