ATLANTA – State Representative Floyd Griffin (D–Milledgeville) will host a road dedication event in honor of the Latasha R. Butts Memorial Highway on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. in front of Baldwin County High School in Milledgeville.
State Route 49 from the Milledgeville Bypass SR 29/US 441 to the Macon Bibb County line in Baldwin County will be named as the Latasha R. Butts Memorial Highway.
During the 2025 legislative session, Rep. Griffin introduced House Resolution 71, which dedicates a road in Ms. Butts’ memory. HR 71 was then incorporated into Senate Resolution 8, the Senate’s annual road dedication package, and adopted into law.
In the case of inclement weather, the road dedication event will take place at the covered entrance to the high school building.
