Rep. Carmen Rice Attends White House State Leadership Conference

ATLANTA – State Representative Carmen Rice (R-Columbus) recently attended the White House State Leadership Conference hosted by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA). The conference served as an opportunity for Georgia elected officials to hear from federal leaders about current national initiatives and ways to collaborate with those leaders at the state level.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join my fellow Georgia lawmakers in attending the White House State Leadership Conference in D.C.,” said Rep. Rice. “It is important to my constituents and the people of Georgia that our voices are heard when making policy decisions that directly impact us, and this conference provided a great platform for this open dialogue with federal leaders. I was proud to join my legislative colleagues for these vital discussions on behalf of the people we serve back home as we advocate for solutions that protect Georgia families and communities.”

Conference speakers and guests included cabinet secretaries, senior White House officials and members of the White House Domestic Policy Council. There was a Q&A session after each speaker, along with IGA representatives from federal agencies and departments. Topics included education, veteran affairs, welfare, energy, health and the impact of the shutdown.

Representative Carmen Rice represents the citizens of District 139, which includes portions of Harris and Muscogee counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Education Committee and Secretary of the Special Committee on Resource Management. She also serves on the Judiciary, Juvenile and Transportation committees.
