“I am honored to be appointed to the House Appropriations Committee and appreciate Speaker Burns’ confidence in me to serve in this new capacity,” said Rep. Williams. “Passing the state budget is one of our most important responsibilities as legislators, and I look forward to working with Chairman Hatchett and my legislative colleagues to ensure Georgia’s tax dollars are managed wisely to meet the needs of our entire state. I am eager for the upcoming legislative session and continuing our work to make Georgia the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
The main focus of the House Appropriations Committee is the writing of the state’s amended and general fiscal year budgets for Georgia’s state agencies and departments. The committee also hears legislation that has considerable impact on the state revenue or expenditures.
