ATLANTA – House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) recently appointed State Representative Bill Fincher (R-Canton) to serve on the Judiciary Juvenile, Judiciary Non-Civil and Transportation committees for the remainder of the 2025-2026 legislative term.
“I am grateful to Speaker Burns for the opportunity to serve on these impactful committees for the remainder of the 2026 legislative session,” said Rep. Fincher. “As a former district attorney, I look forward to helping support the work of these crucial committees, particularly in protecting public safety and upholding the law. I’m honored by the trust placed in me by the voters of House District 23, and I remain committed to ensuring the voices of residents of Cherokee County are heard at the Capitol this session and beyond.”
Rep. Fincher was sworn in on Saturday, January 10, 2026, following a special election to fill the seat of former State Representative Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton), who passed away in October 2025.

Representative Bill Fincher represents the citizens of District 23, which includes a portion of Cherokee County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2026 and currently serves on the Judiciary Juvenile, Judiciary Non-Civil and Transportation committees.
