Rep. Dr. Arlene Beckles Encourages Georgia High School Students to Compete in Spring 2026 Fintech Hackathon at Kennesaw State University

ATLANTA – State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) urges high school students across Georgia to participate in the upcoming Spring 2026 Fintech Hackathon at Kennesaw State University (KSU).

“As Georgia continues to lead the nation in financial technology innovation, our students must be empowered to build the tools of tomorrow,” said Rep. Dr. Beckles. “Participating in the Spring 2026 Fintech Hackathon gives young innovators hands-on experience solving real problems, while gaining critical skills in teamwork, design thinking and technology. I strongly encourage all high school students with an interest in business, technology or problem-solving to join this dynamic event.”

This event will take place on March 28, 2026, at the KSU Center in Kennesaw. The Fintech Hackathon invites high school teams to tackle real-world challenges in financial technology, and prior coding experience is not required. Students will work in teams to design solutions to address issues such as financial inclusion, mobile money interoperability and Small Medium Enterprises (SME) lending, with the opportunity to win cash prizes.

The hackathon features academic and industry judges and offers $3,000 for first, $2,000 for second and $1,000 for third place. Teams will compete by presenting their fintech solutions and prototypes, gaining mentorship and networking opportunities. High school students interested in participating should register as a team and complete all registrations by March 17, 2026.
