ATLANTA – State Representative Long Tran (D–Dunwoody), alongside members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Caucus, will host a press conference to honor the victims of the March 16, 2021, Atlanta spa shooting on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 12 p.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
The press conference will mark the fifth anniversary of the spa shooting that took the lives of six women of Asian descent. The event seeks to honor the lives lost, reflect on the lasting impact on Asian American communities and reaffirm a commitment to safety, dignity and solidarity.
Event speakers include leaders from 3/16 Day of Remembrance Alliance, and they will reflect on the progress made since the tragedy, the work that remains to address hate and violence and the importance of ensuring all communities feel safe and respected.
