ATLANTA – State Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) will host a community breakfast event to honor single parents on Single Parent Day on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 – 11 a.m. at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA.
“Single parents are among the most dedicated and resilient members of our communities,” said Rep. Carter. “They balance the responsibilities of parenting, work and community while often overcoming significant challenges. This event is an opportunity for us to recognize their strength, celebrate their achievements and uplift the vital role they play in shaping the future of our families and neighborhoods.”
At the event, Judge Phinia Aten, Chief Judge of the Magistrate Court of Rockdale County, will join Rep. Carter as the guest speaker to share remarks honoring the strength, perseverance and impact of single parents in the community.
This event seeks to bring together residents, community leaders and local partners for a morning of appreciation, inspiration and conversation. During the program, several single parents will be honored for their resilience, leadership and commitment to raising strong families, while positively impacting the community.
Community members, local leaders and organizations are invited to attend and join in honoring the efforts of single parents in Rockdale County and the surrounding communities.
