ATLANTA – State Representative Venola Mason (D-Stone Mountain) announces that she is partnering with the Stephenson Middle School PTSA, Inspiredu and The Rockbridge Coalition to bring a full day of learning, resources and community celebration to Stephenson Middle School on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The day features a free Adult Digital Literacy Workshop where participants can earn a laptop, alongside the PTSA’s Harvest Festival, which includes a free community resource fair and a ticketed family-friendly festival.
“Access to technology is no longer optional,” said Rep. Mason. “It is how our neighbors apply for jobs, support their children’s schoolwork, manage their healthcare and stay connected. “When our schools, nonprofits and community organizations come together like this, we open doors for families across House District 94. I invite everyone to bring their families, bring their neighbors, and come spend the day with us at Stephenson Middle School.”
Inspiredu, a Georgia nonprofit that provides digital skills training and device distribution to low- to moderate-income individuals, will lead a free, interactive workshop covering basic digital skills, educational tools and games, internet resources, Microsoft Office and online safety. Participants who complete this workshop can earn a laptop, with one laptop distributed per household. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

The Harvest Festival celebrates the PTSA’s theme of “Plant, Spread, Harvest,” with the goal of bringing together food, friends and fun for the school and surrounding community.
“Stephenson Middle School PTSA has designed this event to connect families with valuable services while strengthening student wellness and community involvement,” said Torra Hancock, PTSA Board Member at Stephenson Middle School. “The Community Resource Fair and workshops are free and feature Kids Doc on Wheels, MedCura Health, DeKalb Public Health, and that’s just to name a few. Proceeds from the ticketed Harvest Festival and concessions will support the student and teacher wellness rooms, the Veterans Memorial Courtyard, which is an outdoor extension of the wellness rooms, and the new fruit and vegetable garden breaking ground this school year. Through this event, Stephenson Middle School PTSA hopes to plant seeds of wellness, education and community connection that will continue to grow throughout the school year and for many years to come.”
The free resource fair runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and offers community resources, workshops and support services for students, families and community members, with a focus on family support, health and wellness, digital literacy and academic support.
The ticketed festival and concessions run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and feature games, inflatables, bounce houses, a corn maze, a sports shootout, a gaming truck, music and concessions, including pizza, nachos, chili, popcorn, candy and drinks. To purchase tickets, please click here.
