ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain) recently recognized students of Elizabeth Andrews High School at the State Capitol. The students were recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives on March 6, 2014, with House Resolution 1607, sponsored by Rep. Bennett.
“We are so proud to have these students visit and pleased that there is such an outstanding resource in DeKalb County for students who want to receive their diplomas but who may have had their education interrupted,” said Rep. Bennett. “The school is an important part of DeKalb’s educational process because of the importance of a high school diploma.”
Thirty-nine students from this nontraditional high school visited the Capitol, including their leadership body. Elizabeth Andrews High represents a cross section of DeKalb County’s population, and approximately 78 percent of its students are over the age of 18. The high school was recently named a 2013 Advanced Placement Honors school.
