Rep. Gravley Welcomes Douglas County Commissioner and Coroner to State Capitol

ATLANTA— State Representative Micah Gravley (R-Douglasville) recently led the Georgia House of Representatives in recognizing Douglas County Tax Commissioner Todd Cowan and Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniel. Commissioner Cowan and Coroner Daniel were each recognized by House Resolutions for their accomplishments.

“It was an honor to welcome Commissioner Cowan and Coroner Daniel to the State Capitol,” said Rep. Gravley. “These distinguished public servants received awards from their respective associations as the commissioner and coroner of the year for 2014. We are blessed to have such outstanding officials serve the people of Douglas County.”

House Resolution 155 commends Commissioner Cowan for being named Tax Commissioner of the Year by the Georgia Association of Tax Officials. Cowan received the award at the Georgia Association of Tax Officials annual conference and was selected by 159 county Tax Commissioners from across the state.

House Resolution 409 congratulates Coroner Daniel for being named 2014 Coroner of the Year by the Georgia Coroners Association. The award is given annually to recognize outstanding public service as coroner and as a citizen of the county in which the coroner serves. Daniel was nominated for the award by Deputy Coroner Nathan Mitchell, Sheriff Phil Miller, Fire Chief Scott Spencer, and Douglasville Police Chief Chris Womack.
