Rep. Micah Gravley Offers Assistance to Local Veterans

ATLANTA — State Representative Micah Gravley (R-Douglasville) recently announced that his office will offer assistance to constituents seeking benefits through the Georgia Department of Veterans Services. 

“There is nothing that makes me more proud or humbled than when I can assist our veterans in any way,” said Rep. Gravley. “My office is ready to help these citizens, and I hope that in doing so, we will be able to take some of the strain off of those who have given so much of themselves for our state and nation.”

The US Department of Veteran Services office, located at 180 Martin Dr. in Carrollton, provides services to Carroll and Douglas counties and serves more than 19,500 veterans in the area. In 2015, the Carrollton office paid more than $75,000,000 on direct VA monetary payments with approximately $45,000,000 paid to the almost 12,000 veterans in Douglas County.

The Cartersville Veteran Services office, located at 320 W. Cherokee Ave., provides services to Barrow and Paulding counties and serves more than 17,000 veterans in the area. In 2015, the Cartersville office paid more than $39,000,000 on direct VA monetary payments with approximately $25,000,000 paid to the almost 12,000 veterans in Paulding County.
