ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) was recently sworn in as the recording secretary for the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women) on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.
“I’m sincerely thankful to NOBEL Women for appointing me to serve as the recording secretary,” said Rep. Scott. “NOBEL Women is an incredible organization that inspires women to become active in shaping public policy and promotes economic and social justice for all people. It has been an honor to be a member of NOBEL Women since 2011, and I look forward to serving this respected and renowned organization in this new capacity.”
NOBEL Women is a non-profit, non-partisan organization made up of past and present black women legislators and elected officials. The organization was founded in 1985 to increase and encourage the presence of black women government, and today, NOBEL Women serves as a voice to address various issues impacting all people, and especially issues facing the black community.

Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry counties. She was first elected to the House Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment, Science and Technology and Special Rules committees.
