HB 267, which would prevent biological males from competing against biological females in girls’ sports at every level throughout Georgia, is a priority bill for House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) during the 2025 legislative session.

Speaker Jon Burns, House Majority Caucus to Host Media Availability Following House Passage of the Riley Gaines Act and IVF Protection Legislation

Speaker Burns Applauds House Passage of 2025 Legislative Priority: Protecting IVF

ATLANTA – Today, House Bill 428 passed out of the House with bipartisan support and will now head to the Senate for consideration. HB 428, which would codify protections for in vitro fertilization (IVF) in Georgia, is a priority bill for House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) during the 2025 legislative session. This legislation, sponsored by State Representative Lehman Franklin (R-Statesboro), would ensure Georgians struggling with infertility will always have access to medical assistance through IVF.

Rep. Carl Gilliard, Sen. Donzella James to Participate in Autism Alert Day at the State Capitol Tomorrow

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), joined by State Senator Donzella James (D-Atlanta), will host a press conference and luncheon to observe Autism Alert Day—an event dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for protective measures for individuals with autism, particularly in cases of missing persons in Georgia. The press conference will take place TOMORROW, Thursday, February 27, 2025, beginning at 11:30 a.m. on the 1st floor of the North Wing Steps at the Georgia State Capitol, followed by a luncheon at 12:00 p.m. in Room 123 of the Capitol.
