Rep. Rob Clifton Appointed to Majority Caucus Whip Team for the 2025-2026 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Rob Clifton (R-Evans) was recently appointed by House Majority Caucus Whip James Burchett (R-Waycross) to serve on his Majority Caucus Whip Team for the 2025-2026 legislative term.

“I am honored to serve alongside Majority Whip Burchett on his Whip Team for the 2025-2026 legislative term,” said Rep. Clifton. “The role of the Majority Whip Team is essential to maintaining unity and ensuring that our party can effectively advocate for the issues that matter most to our constituents. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues to keep our party united, foster productive dialogue and ensure that our legislative priorities move forward in the Georgia House.”

Members of the Whip Team are responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through committee and floor consideration in the Georgia General Assembly, ensuring their fellow House members understand the details of bills and resolutions.

Representative Rob Clifton represents the citizens of District 131, which includes a portion of Columbia County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 and currently serves on the Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation and Transportation committees.

ATLANTA – Today, House Bill 267, the ‘Riley Gaines Act,’ passed out of the House Education Committee. HB 267, which would prevent biological males from competing against biological females in girls’ sports at every level throughout Georgia, is a priority bill for House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) during the 2025 legislative session.

Rep. Kim Schofield, State Legislators to Hold Press Conference on Legislation to Protect Warehouse Workers

ATLANTA – State Representatives Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and State Senator Nan Orrock (D-Atlanta) will host a press conference to announce the introduction of House Bill 16, the Warehouse Workplace Protection Act, on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the South Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
