ATLANTA – State Representative Chuck Efstration (R-Dacula) today attended the White House’s Oval Office signing ceremony of Senate Bill 1862, which enacts the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2017. Several administration officials were present during the ceremony including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielson, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump and several members of Congress. Speaker Ralston Appoints Special Committee on Access to Quality Health Care

ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today appointed a Special Committee on Access to Quality Health Care for the 2019-2020 legislative term. This committee follows the recommendations of the House Rural Development Council that the House of Representatives review the regulatory environment for healthcare providers and facilities in the State of Georgia. Rep. Smith Leads 2018 Legislative Environmental Policy Academy

ATLANTA – State Representative Lynn Smith (R-Newnan), Chairman of the House Natural Resources & Environment Committee, recently led the Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s Legislative Environmental Policy Academy from December 7-9, 2018, at the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens. The annual conference featured presentations and panel discussions by state agency leaders, statewide conservation and environmental protection advocates, local public works experts and UGA educators.
