On January 13, 2025, I took an oath of office, swearing to uphold the Georgia Constitution and the Constitution of the United States. It was a profound moment, with my hand resting on the Bible held by my mother. But almost immediately, I was presented with a rule that directly conflicted with the promise I had just made to serve my constituents without compromise.

Rep. Jasmine Clark Elected Chair of Chair of Gwinnett County House Delegation

ATLANTA – On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, State Representative Jasmine Clark (D-Lilburn) was elected chair of the Gwinnett County House Delegation. Rep. Clark is the first woman, and the first Black woman, to hold the position. Additionally, State Representative Segun Adeyina (D-Grayson) was selected as vice chair, and State Representative Arlene Becks (D-Norcross) was appointed secretary of the delegation.

Rep. Park Cannon to Host Doula Day at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), Secretary of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC), will host Doula Day at the State Capitol on Thursday, January 23, 2025. As part of Doula Day, Rep. Cannon will also host a press conference on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.
