Rep. Bethany Ballard Recognized as 2025 Torchbearer for Education Winner by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators

ATLANTA – State Representative Bethany Ballard (R-Warner Robins) recently was recognized as a 2025 Torchbearer for Education winner by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) for sponsoring House Bill 538, the Georgia Early Literacy Act, and House Bill 81, the Interstate Compact for School Psychologists. Reps. Davis, Scott and Schofield Applaud Georgia Supreme Court Ruling Protecting Sapelo Island’s Gullah Geechee Community

ATLANTA – State Representatives Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Sandra Scott (D-Rex)  and Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) today applaud the Georgia Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Sapelo Island’s Gullah Geechee community, allowing a referendum that lets Sapelo Island residents vote on a zoning ordinance in the historic Hogg Hummock community.

House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Election Procedures to Hold Fifth Meeting in Covington Tomorrow

ATLANTA – The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Election Procedures, chaired by State Representative Tim Fleming (R-Covington), will hold its fifth meeting TOMORROW, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Covington, Georgia.  

The Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Election Procedures will study and evaluate Georgia’s current laws, policies and procedures utilized in administering Georgia elections, as well as the statewide and local elected officials and boards that oversee the administration of Georgia’s elections. The committee will compile a report of specific findings or legislative recommendations that will ensure Georgia has a secure and effective electoral system ahead of next November’s elections.
