ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives this week passed House Resolution 1773 declaring Fannin County the Trout Capital of Georgia.  The 13 bodies of water, designated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as trout waters, are home to rainbow, brown, and brook trout, offering numerous fishing opportunities for anglers. Georgia House Passes Legislation to Allow Upgrade of Public Radio Systems

ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 1321 by a vote of 168-1.  Sponsored by State Representative Ben Harbin (R-Evans), HB 1321 only affects Georgia counties that have a fully-funded 911 system that is capable of identifying the exact location of all wireless and land line carriers within their service area.  The bill allows those counties to use any remaining fee revenue generated by the Emergency Telephone System Fund to upgrade their public radio system. ATLANTA- The Georgia House of Representatives today passed House Bill 866 by a vote of 147-4.  Sponsored by State Representative Stephen Allison (R-Blairsville), HB 866 allows the State Medical Education Board to match grants to rural communities for the purpose of encouraging physicians to work in underserved areas.
