Cobb County Democratic Delegation to Hold Press Conference in Marietta Tomorrow Urging Cobb County School Board to Broadcast Public Comments During Meetings

ATLANTA – Members of the Cobb County Democratic Delegation will hold a press conference urging the Cobb County School Board to reverse its policies and allow public comments to be broadcast during its meetings TOMORROW, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Larry Bell Park in Marietta.

Members of the delegation issue the following statement regarding the school board’s decision.

“The decision to halt the broadcasting of public comments is profoundly troubling. This policy effectively silences the voices of working families, caregivers and individuals with disabilities, preventing them from engaging meaningfully with the school board. When only those who are physically present can hear the concerns of their neighbors and fellow community members, we undermine the very spirit of this policy, which aims to connect the entire community. The public broadcasting of comments has consistently served as a catalyst for resolution and accountability; its removal suggests a troubling disregard for the voices we are meant to represent. We strongly urge the board to reinstate live broadcasting without delay.”
