ATLANTA – State Representative Allen Peake (R-Macon) announced that the Georgia Commission on Medical Cannabis will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building (CLOB) in Atlanta.
The meeting will feature presentations from four manufacturers of medical cannabis from other states who will discuss the best regulatory structure for in-state growth and distribution models based on their experiences. Presenters include: Jason Cranford, founder of the Flowering Hope Foundation and creator of “Haleigh’s Hope,” and; Jake Bergman, CEO of Surterra Investments, a Georgia based Company providing cannabinoid health solutions; Robert H. Blake, III, President of Oregonians for Better Health, Inc.; and Mike Bragg, President of CBDPharms. Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health, will also provide a brief update on Georgia’s medical cannabis registry. Additionally, Dr. Yong Park with Georgia Regents University will offer an update on the clinical trials of Epidiolex at GRU.
