ATLANTA – The Georgia House Democratic Caucus (GHDC) Subcommittee on COVID-19 will hold a virtual hearing to discuss the Georgia Department of Labor’s processing of unemployment insurance (UI) benefit claims on Monday, December 21, 2020, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. During the meeting, these legislators will hear testimony from individuals impacted by unprocessed UI benefits claims, non-payment and partial payment of such claims, as well as the appeal process.
The GHDC Subcommittee on COVID-19 was formed in April 2020 under the leadership of House Minority Leader James Beverly (D-Macon). It includes State Representatives Debra Bazemore (D-South Fulton), Roger Bruce (D-South Fulton), Rhonda Burnough (D-Riverdale), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Shelly Hutchinson (D-Snellville), Donna McLeod (D-Lawrenceville), Mary Robichaux (D-Roswell), Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta).
