ATLANTA – The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, chaired by State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), will host the 2023 Heritage Dinner on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.
Founded in 1975, the GLBC is currently the largest caucus of Black state legislators in the nation. The theme of this year’s dinner is “A Call to Action,” and the event will be hosted by Jonathan Slocumb, actor and writer known from “Meet the Browns.” The caucus will honor Louis Gossett Jr., Emmy award-winning actor; Dottie Peoples, Stellar Award recipient and gospel recording artist; and Flau’jae, “America’s Got Talent” participant. The event will also feature a performance by Brick, the chart-topping 1970s R&B band.
Members of the press are not required to purchase tickets to attend this event. Tickets are available to the public online here.
“This year we’re bringing the focus of the dinner back to heritage and a celebration of people,” said Rep. Gilliard.
