ATLANTA – The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), chaired by State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain), will host a virtual Young Leaders Policy Summit on Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 11 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. To register and receive virtual session credentials, please visit www.gablackcaucus.org.
The Young Leaders Policy Summit is an educational session led by members and former interns of the GLBC. Attendees will learn about the roles and responsibilities of serving state legislators, the legislative process, how to be an effective lobbyist, as well as training on developing a personal brand. Through this virtual summit, the GLBC seeks to galvanize young leaders to explore, learn and solve civic issues in preparation to become future policy leaders.
For the past 45 years, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, which is the largest Black caucus in the nation, has sought to protect the general welfare of Black people, other people of color and disadvantaged citizens of Georgia in matters of healthcare, education, social and criminal justice, employment and economic empowerment.
