ATLANTA – The House Democratic Caucus met and elected its key leaders on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. The Minority Caucus elected the following caucus members for leadership positions:
- State Rep. James Beverly (D-Macon), House Minority Leader;
- State Rep. Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain), House Minority Caucus Chairman;
- State Rep. Erica Thomas (D-Austell); House Minority Caucus Vice-Chairman;
- State Rep. David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs), House Minority Whip;
- State Rep. Debra Bazemore (D-South Fulton), House Minority Chief Deputy Whip;
- State Rep. Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), House Minority Caucus Secretary;
- State Rep. Mary Robichaux (D-Roswell), House Minority Caucus Treasurer.
Representative James Beverly represents the citizens of District 143, which includes portions of Bibb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as House Minority Leader. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and on the Ethics, Health & Human Services, Retirement, Rules, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
Representative Billy Mitchell represents the citizens of District 88, which includes portions of DeKalb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2002 and currently serves at House Minority Caucus Chairman. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Health & Human Services and Regulated Industries committees.
Representative Park Cannon represents the citizens of District 58, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and currently serves as the House Minority Caucus Secretary. She also serves on the Code Revision, Human Relations & Aging, Insurance and Small Business Development committees. She is a member of the Working Group on Creative Arts & Entertainment.
Representative Mary Robichaux represents the citizens of District 48, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves as the House Minority Caucus Treasurer. She also serves on the Human Relations & Aging, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
Representative David Wilkerson represents the citizens of District 38, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as House Minority Whip. He also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Juvenile Justice, Retirement and Science and Technology committees.
Representative Erica Thomas represents the citizens of District 39, which includes portions of Cobb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as House Minority Caucus Vice Chairman. She also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Juvenile Justice, Retirement and Science and Technology committees.
Representative Debra Bazemore represents the citizens of District 63, which includes portions of Clayton, Fayette and Fulton counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and currently serves as Minority Caucus Chief Deputy Whip. She also serves on the Human Relations & Aging, Intragovernmental Coordination, Natural Resources & Environment and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
