ATLANTA – Georgia House Majority Whip Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) recently announced the start of a bridge reconstruction project on Winters Road in Haralson County on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
“This bridge being out has affected local businesses and hampered local residents’ ability to navigate the area, so I am very happy that we will be able to get this project completed for them in such a short time frame,” said Whip Kelley. “I would like to thank Chairman Ridley and the members of the Haralson County Commission for their fiscally responsible approach in approving the project. This is a prime example of how state and local governments should work together.”
Whip Kelley also met with Haralson County Commission Chairman Ronnie Ridley and Grant Waldrop, who is a district engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation, to discuss the bridge reconstruction project. This project will be funded using both state and county funds and should be completed by the middle of June 2020.
Representative Trey Kelley represents the citizens of District 16, which includes Polk County and portions of Bartow and Haralson counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves as House Majority Whip. He also serves as Secretary of the Judiciary and Higher Education committees and as a member on the Code Revision, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Ethics, Health & Human Services and Way & Means committees. He also serves as an Ex-Officio member of the House Rules Committee.
