ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus met today and re-elected its key leaders. The Majority Caucus nominated House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) and House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) as the caucus nominees for their current positions and re-elected Majority Leader Larry O’Neal (R-Bonaire), House Majority Whip Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City), Majority Caucus Chairman Matt Hatchett (R-Dublin), Majority Caucus Vice-Chairman Sam Teasley (R-Marietta) and Majority Caucus Secretary/Treasurer Allen Peake (R-Macon).
“Our caucus is made up of strong, talented individuals who are poised to lead this state forward,” said House Speaker David Ralston. I was honored to receive their nomination as Speaker of the House today. Leading the House is a great responsibility, one that I take very seriously. I look forward to another term representing the people of Georgia and the 7th House District as the Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives.”
“I am honored to receive this nomination again from my peers,” said Speaker Pro-tempore, Jan Jones. “Every one of us has a great legacy to create before we leave office, and I hope my colleagues feel the urgency like I do to make our mark on Georgia while we can.”

As the Majority Caucus nominees, Speaker Ralston and Speaker Pro-Tempore Jones will now be voted upon by the Georgia House of Representatives on the first day of the 2015 legislative session, which is set for January 12, 2015.
Representative David Ralston represents the citizens of District 7, which includes Fannin and Gilmer Counties, as well as portions of Dawson County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2002, and currently serves as the House Speaker.
Representative Jan Jones represents the citizens of District 47, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2002, and currently is the Speaker Pro-Tempore. She also serves on the Appropriations, Education, Ethics, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, and Rules committees.
Representative Larry O’Neal represents the citizens of District 146, which includes portions of Houston County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2000, and currently serves as the Majority Leader in the Georgia House of Representatives. He also serves on the Ethics, Governmental Affairs, Judiciary, Rules, and Ways & Means committees.
Representative Matt Ramsey represents the citizens of District 72, which includes portions of Coweta and Fayette counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2007, and currently serves as the House Majority Whip. He also serves on the Appropriations, Ethics, Higher Education, Judiciary Non-Civil, Regulated Industries, Rules, and Ways & Means committees.
Representative Matt Hatchett represents the citizens of District 150, which includes portions of Johnson, Laurens, and Treutlen counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Chairman of the House Republican Caucus and as the Vice Chairman on the Economic Development & Tourism Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations, Ethics, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, and Health & Human Services committees.
Representative Sam Teasley represents the citizens of District 37, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the House Caucus Vice Chairman. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Education, Ethics, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, and Insurance committees.
Representative Allen Peake represents the citizens of District 141, which includes portions of Bibb and Monroe counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and currently serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the House Majority Caucus, the Vice Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, and the Ex-Officio of the Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Health & Human Services, Rules, and Small Business Development committees.
