ATLANTA – Today the House Transportation Committee approved Todd Long as the first Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The recommendation came in a unanimous vote following a hearing of the full committee on Governor Sonny Perdue’s recent appointee.
“Now that the House Transportation Committee has concluded a successful approval process I look forward to working with Director Todd Long and Chairman Vance Smith to improve Georgia’s transportation system,” said Rep. Jay Roberts (R-Ocilla), Chairman of the House Transportation Committee.
The House Transportation Committee is required by Senate Bill 200, which Governor Perdue signed into law May 11, 2009 to approve any personnel named to the Director of Planning position at GDOT.
