Rep. David Wilkerson Receives ACCG’s 2026 Legislative Service Award

ATLANTA – State Representative David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs) was recently awarded with The Association County Commissioners of Georgia’s (ACCG) 2026 Legislative Service Award, which honors state House and Senate members for their work during the legislative session. Rep. Wilkerson was presented with the award during the July 14 Cobb County Commission meeting.

Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick Participates in ‘She Leads’ Panel at Future Summit 2026 in Washington D.C.

ATLANTA – State Representative Dar’shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia) recently attended the Future Summit 2026 in Washington, D.C. where she served as a panelist on the “She Leads” panel. Hosted by the Future Caucus, the 10th annual Future Summit took place from July 8 through July 11 and brought together millennial and Gen Z state lawmakers from across the country to strengthen bipartisan coalitions and legislative solutions and gain insights from experts on issues that define the future.

Rep. Rick Townsend Convenes First Meeting of House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances

ATLANTA – State Representative Rick Townsend (R-Brunswick) recently convened the first of several meetings of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances. Chaired by Rep. Townsend, the study committee met on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the State Capitol in Atlanta and heard from a number of clinical and medical professionals, scholars, university faculty and other experts on the effects of kratom.
