Co-Chair Mack Jackson Hosts House Rural Development Council’s Second Meeting in House District 128

ATLANTA – State Representative Mack Jackson (D-Sandersville) recently hosted the second 2024 meeting of the House Rural Development Council at the historic Thomson Depot in Thomson, Georgia, located in House District 128, which he represents. Rep. Jackson, alongside State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert), were appointed to serve as co-chairs of the council by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) in 2023. This meeting specifically focused on rural healthcare, addressing topics such as maternal and infant health, physician shortages and access to care in underserved areas.

ATLANTA – State Representative Chris Erwin (R-Homer) will participate in the upcoming Statewide Reading Rally on Georgia Reads Day at the College Football Hall of Fame on Monday, September 30, 2024, beginning at 9:15 a.m. at the Georgia Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. The event will include a press conference that will take place in the Quad underneath the Helmet Wall at 9:15 a.m. The Reading Rally will take place on the Playing Field at 10 a.m.

ATLANTA – State Representative Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert), co-chair of the House Rural Development Council alongside State Representative Mack Jackson (D-Sandersville), recently hosted the council’s second meeting of the year at the historic Thomson Depot in Thomson, Georgia. Rep. Kim Schofield Announces Fulton County Designation as a Purple Heart County

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) recently announced that Fulton County has been named as a Purple Heart County. On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Fulton County Commission Chairman Rob Pitts and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners unanimously issued a proclamation presented by Commissioner Marvin Arrington and co-sponsored by Commissioner Natalie Hall, which seeks to honor the courage, service and sacrifice of the men and women who have been wounded or killed in the line of duty while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
