Rep. Jesse Petrea Introduces Legislation on Georgia Sheriffs Violating Georgia Sanctuary Laws

ATLANTA – State Representative Jesse Petrea (R-Savannah) recently introduced legislation to provide a criminal penalty for sheriffs who refuse to follow Georgia state law on sanctuary policies. House Bill 1105, the “Georgia Criminal Alien Track and Report Act of 2024,” would make it a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature for sheriffs to disregard Georgia laws against “sanctuary” policies.

Paulding County House and Senate Delegation Announces New Floating Homestead Exemption Referendum to Stabilize Homeowner Taxes

DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation to Hold Meetings with DeKalb Municipal Association & DeKalb County Charter Review Commission

ATLANTA – DeKalb County House Delegation Chair Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates) and Vice Chair Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), along with members of the DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation, will hold a meeting with the DeKalb Municipal Association (DMA) on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 12 p.m. in room 514 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta. Additionally, these legislators will meet with the Honorable Steve Henson and the DeKalb County Charter Review Commission on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. in room 514 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.
