DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation to Hold Meetings with MARTA Representatives and DeKalb County Commissioners

ATLANTA – DeKalb County House Delegation Chair Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates) and Vice Chair Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), along with members of the DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation, will hold a meeting with representatives from the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority Act (MARTA) on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 12 p.m. in room 514 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. Additionally, these legislators will meet with DeKalb County Commissioners on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 12 p.m. in room 502 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.

Rep. Jordan Ridley Introduces Legislation to Set Compensation Rates for District Attorneys Pro Tempore

ATLANTA – State Representative Jordan Ridley (R-Woodstock) recently introduced House Bill 928 to set compensation rates for private attorneys appointed to act as district attorneys pro tempore in the case of an absent or disqualified district attorney.

Reps. Matt Reeves and Mesha Mainor Propose the Second Chance Workforce Act

ATLANTA – State Representatives Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) and Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta) recently introduced House Bill 926, the Second Chance Workforce Act. This legislation would allow individuals with low-level municipal citation and misdemeanor charges to keep their driver’s licenses during their cases, as long as the charges do not pertain to DUI, reckless driving or child support, so that their ability to drive to work is not interrupted.
