Gov. Brian Kemp Signs Rep. Doug Stoner’s Legislation to Allow Schools to Stock Treatment for Hypoglycemic Emergencies

ATLANTA – State Representative Doug Stoner (D-Smyrna) today announced that Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 440 into law on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Savannah. Sponsored by Rep. Stoner, HB 440 will allow public and private schools in Georgia to acquire and keep a supply of glucagon, a medication used to treat severe hypoglycemia in people with diabetes, starting July 1, 2023.

Reps. Sandra Scott, Kim Schofield, Viola Davis Condemn the Expulsion of Black Tennessee Lawmakers

ATLANTA – State Representatives Sandra Scott (D-Rex), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) celebrate the reinstatement of Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones, one of the two Black Tennessee state legislators who were expelled from the Tennessee General Assembly, and call for the reinstatement of Tennessee State Representative Justin Pearson. Speaker Jon Burns, Senator Max Burns Announce $400,000 for Screven County Agricultural Center Improvements

            ATLANTA – Today, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) and State Senator Max Burns (R-Sylvania) announced that the Amended Fiscal Year 2023 (AFY 2023) budget includes $400,000 for improvements to the Screven County Agricultural Center.
