Savannah-Chatham County Legislative Delegation to Host Road Naming Ceremony in Honor of the Late State Rep. Edward “Mickey” Stephens

ATLANTA – State Representative Ron Stephens (R-Savannah), chair of the Savannah-Chatham County Legislative Delegation, along with State Representative Edna Jackson (D-Savannah) and other delegation members, will host a road-naming ceremony to dedicate the Representative Edward “Mickey” Stephens Memorial Interchange on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Student Union Center at Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia.

Reps. Esther Panitch and Karen Lupton Applaud Unanimous Passage of Legislation to Establish Family Justice Centers and Preserve Sexual Assault Evidence 

ATLANTA – State Representatives Esther Panitch (D-Sandy Springs) and Karen Lupton (D-Chamblee) applaud the final passage of House Bill 1283 to allow for the creation of Family Justice Centers, which are multiagency centers that provide coordinated services to victims of family violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking and associated crimes. HB 1283 would also require law enforcement to retain sexual assault evidence for up to 10 years if a victim does not immediately report the abuse.

ATLANTA – State Representative Yasmin Neal (D-Jonesboro) recently introduced House Bill 1603, the Georgia Entertainment Artificial Intelligence Accountability and Performer Protection Act, during the 2026 legislative session. The proposed legislation seeks to safeguard performers and strengthen protections for Georgia’s film and entertainment industry regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
