Rep. Calvin Smyre Receives Georgia Municipal Association’s Key Citizen Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus), Dean of the Georgia House of Representatives, recently received the Georgia Municipal Association’s (GMA) Key Citizen Award, which is GMA’s highest form of recognition. Dean Smyre was presented with the award during the organization’s 2022 Annual Convention in Savannah on June 26, 2022.

Rep. Anulewicz, Bipartisan Group of Cobb County Legislators Urge Open Competition for Next Generation U.S. Air Force Tanker

ATLANTA – State Representative Teri Anulewicz (D-Smyrna), along with a bipartisan group of state legislators from Cobb County, recently submitted a letter to Georgia’s U.S. senators urging the federal government to use a fair and open, value-based competition for a next-generation aerial refueling tanker for the U.S. Air Force. Lockheed Martin’s Marietta facility has designed a next-generation fuel tanker that could produce thousands of jobs for Georgians if Lockheed is selected by the U.S. Department of Defense.
