Reps. David Knight, Karen Mathiak Make Constituents Aware that Spalding County Elections Board Workers Cleared of Major Allegations

ATLANTA – State Representatives David Knight (R-Griffin) and Karen Mathiak (R-Griffin) seek to make constituents aware of the recent consent order between the State Election Board (SEB) and the Spalding County Board of Elections (BOE), which clears Spalding County poll managers and workers from certain allegations of illegal activity and requires the Spalding County BOE to improve its operations for future elections. Columbus Legislative Delegation to Host Bridge Dedication Ceremony for Late Judge Albert W. Thompson

ATLANTA – The Columbus Legislative Delegation will host a memorial bridge dedication ceremony for the late Judge Albert W. Thompson, Sr. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the TSYS Parking Lot A near the south end of the 2nd Ave. bridge (corner of 2nd Ave. and 15th St.) in Columbus.

Rep. Matt Dubnik Appointed to Special Subcommittee of Higher Education to Address Workforce Development, Retention

ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Dubnik (R-Gainesville), chairman of the House Education Committee, was recently appointed to serve on a new special subcommittee of the House Higher Education Committee to address workforce development. Appointed by House Higher Education Chairman Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta), Rep. Dubnik will help examine current challenges the state is facing with respect to recruiting and retaining talent to Georgia’s workforce.

Rep. Sandra Scott Participates in Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity Shed Building Project

ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) recently participated in the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity’s shed building project in Clayton County on Saturday, May 14. Rep. Scott and other volunteers built a shed for a local family who will receive a Habitat for Humanity Home.
