Rep. Carson Introduces “Parents’ Bill of Rights” Legislation

ATLANTA – State Representative John Carson (R-Marietta) recently introduced House Bill 1158, or the Georgia “Parents’ Bill of Rights.” Through this legislation, Rep. Carson seeks to establish and protect parental rights regarding education, health information and upbringing, as well as enable transparency between schools/school systems and parents. He also seeks to curb special interest groups from promoting teaching materials in public school classrooms without parental consent.

Rep. Darlene Taylor Commends $6.8 Million in Grant Funding for Broadband Access in Thomas County

ATLANTA – State Representative Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville), chair of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, commends Governor Brian Kemp’s decision to award $6.8 million in federal funding for broadband access throughout in Thomas County. This federal funding is awarded to the Thomas County Board of Commissioners and could potentially increase broadband access for 2,098 locations in the county.
