ATLANTA— Last week EmpowerMEnt, Multi-Agency Alliance for Children, Inc. (MAAC), and Georgia’s Independent Living Program (ILP) presented Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D- Austell) with a service award for her dedication to helping Georgia’s foster youth.
ATLANTA – On Wednesday, May 6, 2009, Governor Sonny Perdue signed House Bill 251 into law. This legislation was authored by Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D- Austell) to allow students to transfer from one school to another in the same school district, provided there is room.
ATLANTA – Today Representatives Howard Maxwell (R- Dallas) and Mark Butler (R- Carrollton) congratulated their constituents who were recently appointed to the Middle Chattahoochee Regional Water Council. This is one of ten regional water councils created by the Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Plan, which was approved by the General Assembly in 2008.
Bill has Strong Bi-Partisan Support in the House ATLANTA—House Majority Leader Jerry Keen (R-St. Simons) today introduced legislation to strengthen Georgia’s sex offender and sexual predator laws. When introduced, the bill had already been signed by a bipartisan group of 75 House members.
